JAM Camp JAM Session Talk Guidelines

JAM Session / Principle Talk Format

These are some guidelines for any talk  given at JAM Camp.

Remember, flexibility is key when walking humbly with God.

Context

Remember the context for any talk is sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ using Athletics/Sports as the hook/medium, while demnstrating Manhood.

Remember JAM - Jesus / Athletics / Manhood - Connect Jesus, Athletics/Sports and Manhood

Jesus - The Gospel / Good News message of Christ's death, burial, resurrection and return

Athletics - Sports - Use any sport you are most comfortable with, but speak about things common to all sport

Manhood - "Responsible Leadership", "Responsibility", "Leadership"

Length

20 to 25 minutes max

Main Question

What is the Main Point of the talk?

The Main Point should answer/focus on a Main Question in the JAM framework.

Example: Intro talk - How are God and Sport connected? Is Sport a good thing?

Don't Try Too Hard

Be yourself.

Young people have the best ability to see through"fake people". So, avoid trying to sound/act like someone else. (Unless you are role playing. I do this as "Coach T" in the labs.)

Allow the audience to meet you - the real you.
