One interesting new feature in Reason 9 is the ability to bounce audio clips to MIDI so that the MIDI information can trigger a Synth, or a Drum instrument. So I have a little bit of a guitar solo that I'll let you hear a little bit of. (guitar solo plays) Okay, and now in order to bounce this to MIDI, I'll right-click, and I wanna first check the Stretch and Transpose Type.
If I use Allround or Melody, I'm just going to come out with all the same notes, which is fine if I'm triggering a drum, but not for a melody instrument. So I need to change the Stretch Type to Vocal, and now, I can right-click and Bounce Audio Clips to MIDI. And so automatically, this Subtractor Singing Synth has been created, and here's the MIDI information.
So I'm gonna just solo this synth track so you can hear it. (synth music track plays) Okay, so it missed a few notes, but it did a pretty reasonable job. I'll go ahead and unsolo that so you can hear it along with the guitar. (guitar solo plays) (synth music track plays) Obviously, I don't have to use a guitar.
I could hum into a microphone and have my idea be able to trigger a Synthelator. And just for fun, I've loaded a beat in here, which I will unmute now, and let's try a different sound. I'll look in Leads here, this in in the Reason 9 sounds, and I found this Big Pan Flute sound that I think will be fun. I'll just drag it over here.
I'll let this play us out. (synthesized music playing)
