We are very excited that you are considering coming to camp! Here you will find answers to all the questions you may have about what to expect during your week.
Camper Questions:
• sleeping bag and pillow (maybe a bed sheet as well)
• 2-3 long pants, 3-5 pair of shorts, 2-3 sweatshirts or warm outerwear
• appropriate number of t-shirts (no spaghetti straps), socks, underwear, pj's for the week
• make sure some of the clothing you bring can get dirty
• swimsuit (girls: TANKINIS OR 1 PC SWIMSUITS ONLY, PLEASE. Boys: NO SPEEDOS. PLEASE!)
• closed-toed shoes
• soap, shampoo, deodorant, toothbrush & toothpaste, comb or brush, towel & washcloth
• sunscreen and bug repellant is highly recommended
• Bible and pen or pencil (Modern translation preferred)
• 2 large garbage bags (1 for dirty and wet clothes, 1 for camp out)
• backpack to carry clothes etc. for overnight campout trip.
• wrist watch and/or battery-powered alarm clock
• Medical Form
• A positive attitude!
Camp is full of fun activities and we follow a schedule to keep everybody on track. Below is an example of what a typical day looks like during an Intermediate week at camp.

You will have 2 awesome counsellors in your cabin. Our staff are super fun – they know tons of games, have a great sense of humour and know how to help you have the best week of your life!
Because camp is a place to “make new friends and keep the old”, we ask that you only request one friend to be your cabin mate. This person must be of the same age or grade as you. Your parents will be notified two weeks prior to camp if the request cannot be granted.
Parent Questions:
The Bible Program at Camps with Meaning is a time of exploring with children what it means to follow Jesus.
The Bible program is designed to be fun for children. Our Bible Instructors go to great lengths to find stories, write skits and create object lessons which engage the campers. Our staff write songs each season to accompany the Bible program. The program is presented in an interactive style during the morning “Bible Exploration time” as well as at the evening Fireside and in small group talks.
The Bible program is about faith. Basic Christian values and beliefs are taught from the Mennonite perspective. Key to this teaching is an invitation to follow the example of Jesus Christ, and to begin or grow a relationship with Jesus Christ. These are matters where campers are given free choice. Campers of all faiths or belief systems are welcome.
The Bible program is based on a five year curriculum. This year's theme is “Knowing God”.

Registrations received by March 31st qualify for a $20 early bird discount. If two or more campers register from the same family, a family discount of $20 applies to the second and additional children. Registrations must be mailed in the same envelope or completed on the same day.
An enjoyable bus ride is available to Camp Koinonia. Note: our buses are not wheelchair accessible. Payment can be made during the registration process (see registration form for rates). Bus pickup and drop off is at the Camps with Meaning Office, 600 Shaftesbury, south parking lot, as well as in Morden. There is daily transportation for the Day Camp program. Yes! Our special needs program provides support for children and youth who need help to have a successful week. If your child has a disability please provide details with registration or call us. Apply early to hold your spot. Our trained staff will contact each family, starting in May, to confirm spots and help us prepare adaptive programming and care. A conversation or interview will be requested. Payment will be refunded in the event that we are unable to accommodate the needs of the child.
We do not process incomplete registrations, nor do we hold spots for them. Avoid delays by checking for the following common errors: missing signatures, blanks left unfilled, discounts not applied. Spots are only reserved when payment is received, whether registering online or sending in a cheque.
We do not allow parental visits, as the camper growth experience involves independence. However, we would love to pass along letters or e mails to your child. In your registration package, e-mail address for each camp will be provided.
A 75% refund of session and transportation fees is available up to 14 days before camp. After that, no refund is available except for certified medical or family emergencies. No refunds are issued for disciplinary dismissals.
Yes. However, please refrain from registering for a second week until the early bird registration deadline has passed to ensure fairness to all applicants. Please complete a separate registration when applying for more than one week.
Every child should have the opportunity to go to camp. Through the Manitoba Camping Association's Sunshine Fund this can become a reality. See our website or call us for information about this program, which has been used by hundreds of families. Assistance with clothing, luggage, hygiene items, sleeping bags is also available through our office. Don't hesitate to ask!
