Road Trip Colorado Springs Colorado to Washington DC
Cross-country road trip - PCS to Virginia.
On the road to Branson, Missouri this time to visit Bass Pro Shops' Big Cedar Lodge. It should be about five hours to get there. Hoping for some great traveling weather and road conditions.
This is one of those deals where they are going to sell us a timeshare. So, we have to go to one of the "presentations" while we're there. Since Big Cedar Lodge sits on Table Rock Lake, I'm looking forward to some good fishing. Maybe I can catch a few bass!

I love hitting the road for the Christmas holiday season! My wife prefers to fly, but the road is so much better. Montgomery, Alabama is just the first stop on our Holiday Tour of the South.

We knew the storms were fierce out here in Oklahoma, but I never thought I would see several tornadoes right outside my front door. I took these pictures of tornadoes passing over my neighbor's house. Some of the pictures have several tornadoes passing by in the distance (over Historic Route 66 near Arcadia Lake in Edmond).
We have been under extreme weather most of the week, but today was like the finale of a fireworks display. We had reports of four different tornadoes moving towards the OKC metro area. The biggest tornado was in El Reno and it was reported to be an EF5 at least 2.5 miles wide. Three other tornadoes seemed to move down I-40 during rush hour with traffic backed up in all directions around the OKC area. One tornado approached the city of Moore, Oklahoma - still devastated by the tornado that hit May 20th. We have been getting flash flood warnings a good part of the evenings as well.
We had another massive and destructive tornado rip through here today (Monday, May 20, 2013). This time, the city of Moore was hit the hardest by a mile-wide tornado with winds around 200 miles per hour that destroyed entire neighborhoods, including two schools, within 40 minutes. The deaths are still being counted.
Here is the actual KFOR video footage I was watching when this deadly storm approached Moore, Oklahoma. This is a recording of the local KFOR broadcast of the deadly Moore, Oklahoma tornado from its origination just outside of Newcastle to the final spinning rope nearly 40 minutes later near Lake Stanley Draper (near Tinker Air Force Base).
