Big Idea
You were created by a great God. Because God is great, you have the opportunity and responsibility to pursue greatness in every area of your life.
Greatness is not about fame.
Greatness is not about being better than everyone else.
Greatness is becoming the man God created you to be.
Let me ask you a question.
Have you ever missed a shot?
Dropped a pass?
Missed a tackle?
Struck out?
Forgot an assignment?
Said something you shouldn't have said?
Done something you knew was wrong?
Of course you have.
We all have.
The question isn't whether you've messed up.
The question is:
What do you do after you mess up?
Let me ask you something.
What happens when a football player jumps offsides?
There's a penalty.
What happens when a basketball player commits a foul?
There's a penalty.
What happens when a player breaks the rules?
There's a consequence.
Nobody likes penalties.
But penalties teach us something important.
Our choices matter.
Let me ask you a question.
Have you ever been stuck?
Maybe it was a math problem.
Maybe it was a test question.
Maybe it was a play during a game.
Maybe it was something happening in your life.
When you're stuck, what do you need?
An answer.
Everybody loves answers.
Especially when the problem is big.
Every day you make decisions.
Some are small.
Some are big.
What to wear.
Who to hang around.
How hard to work.
Whether to quit or keep going.
Whether to do what's right or what's easy.
Life is filled with decisions.
And every decision takes you somewhere.
Let me ask you a question.
How many of you became great at your sport overnight?
Nobody.
Nobody picked up a basketball one day and became a champion the next.
Nobody walked into the weight room one time and got stronger.
Nobody practiced once and mastered their sport.
Why?
Because growth is a process.
Fresh drops just hit the site.
