Veterans Information Channel Website

I did a "soft launch" of the Veterans Info Channel website today. The official launch of the website will be in mid-March.

The Veterans Info Channel is intended to provide a single Resource Center for our US Military Veterans, current US Service members and their family members. Specific and current Information related to Benefits, Housing, Employment and Medical Assistance is provided in an accurate and timely manner.

This project is VERY special to me because I am always seeking ways to help those who serve - and have served - their country. As a military spouse, I see the importance of having timely information regarding Veterans benefits and services.

The Veterans Information Channel website is one way that I can help US Military Veterans get the info they need.

Keywords: veterans us military veterans, information for military veterans, veterans info site, veterans information channel

SAHD Life: Being Ready When Disaster Strikes - What Sandy Taught Me

The devastation left behind by super storm Sandy really got me thinking about being prepared. As a stay-at-home dad, I have more time to think about things like being prepared for disasters and just every day activities my family has. But listening to the heart wrenching stories about people left without power, without heat, and without homes, prompted me to look more into expanding my preparedness/readiness plan for my family.

How to Make Beats Wrapping the Samples in Sample Flip Beats Remixes

When I make Moody Instrumental Music, sometimes I "sample" or use parts from an existing song or musical piece. My goal in sampling is to take parts from a piece that I love and build a completely different musical piece that leaves the listener saying, "WOW, you got that result from those sampled pieces?!"

The way I do this is by "wrapping" (not rapping) the sample with my own instrumentation. I create different musical patterns with the sampled pieces (called "flipping the sample"). While I flip the samples, I can hear (in my head) all of the instrumentation that I want to wrap the sample pieces in. When i finish the sample flip patterns, I go back and create the instrumentation that I heard (in my head).

In this video, watch how I make a sample flip beat and instrumental music using Propellerhead's Reason software, the Akai MPD32 and the Yamaha DJX MIDI keyboard. This video takes you into my thought process about sampling, "chopping and flipping" samples, and I give you tips on how to make music.

This video catches me on one of my "happier" days, in which my overall "moody-ness" level was low. Plus, I had just finished downing a can of Mountain Dew. So, I'm a bit more animated in this video.

MILITARY: CHECK MILITARYBYOWNER.COM WHEN LOOKING TO BUY OR RENT A HOME

Moving your entire life around periodically, and sometimes very unexpectedly, is a challenge that all military families share. When the time comes, it's great to have resources you can use to help alleviate some of the stress involved.

For our last two PCSs (relocations), to Montgomery, Alabama and Alexandria, Virginia, MilitaryByOwner.com was how we found great homes to rent. We also found homes to buy through the website.
