9th Grade White Belt

Form Meaning

The name of your form is SONGAHM which means: "Pine tree temple." Pine tree is known as evergreen...Evergreen has strength the year round and a long life. Evergreen also is a symbol of unchanging human loyalty.

The philosophical interpretation of the White Belt is...

"Pure and without the knowledge of Songahm Taekwondo. As with the Pine Tree, the seed must now be planted and nourished to develop strong roots." The student has no knowledge of Songahm Taekwondo and begins with a clean (pure) slate.

Mercy Is The Only Way Out

I was listening to music while writing code/programming and this song came one and totally gripped my heart.

Andra Day's voice is amazing and the music's irregular nature drew me into the depths of the lyrics.

It's like Andra Day is speaking to me and speaking for me at the same time in this song when she sings...

I can't hear love 'cause we're at war
And revenge is so loud and the drums are so proud
But oh, I'm in a cage and I hear mercy say "I'm here now"
And it's the only way out
(I can't hear love 'cause we're at war)
But revenge is so loud and the drums are so proud
But I'm still in a cage and I hear mercy say now
It's the only way out

Props to the writers, Cassandra Monique Batie and Dave Wood.

Powerful, amazing, awesome song.
